I am still a person of faith, a lover of truth and people, and a mother and wife. My husband and I are the parents to three independent, grown 20-something sons and one amazing daughter-in-law. This year long blog, with two additional update posts at the six-month and one-year anniversaries, was my attempt to understand transgenderism from many perspectives: scientifically, theologically, relationally, psychologically, medically, historically, and personally.
The impetus for starting the blog in February of 2018 was the coming out of our second twin to identify as a transgender male in the fall of 2017. Our other twin came out as a transgender male almost five years earlier in the spring of 2013.
I posted once or twice a week for a year to document my journey and untangle my jumbled thoughts. My narrative is different than any I had encountered. I attempted to engage the topic honestly, personally, and humbly. Each post is just a step forward on my path and most are less than a thousand words and a quick read. If you have some time, start at the beginning with A Love Story, posted on Valentine’s Day 2018 and read through to How Deep is the Rabbit Hole?, the final post from Valentine’s Day 2020. I learned so much as I went along, and even yet, the story is still unfolding, both for me and for you. Welcome!
